John Sinclair - Demon Hunter

John Sinclair is the name as well as the protagonist of a popular German horror detective fiction series. Sinclair, a Scotland Yard chief inspector, battles all kinds of undead and demonic creatures. The series appears weekly and has been running since 1973. Almost all John Sinclair stories in the series have been written exclusively by Helmut Rellergerd under the nom-de-plume of Jason Dark.

Dark Shadows

In Germany, DARK SHADOWS found a second life in pulp magazines. The Paperback Library published 32 DARK SHADOWS novels written by Marilyn Ross, some of which were later recycled as content for German horror- and gothic-themed pulp digests.

To Whom It May Concern: Ka Shen's Journey Trailer

To Whom It May Concern:  Ka Shen's Journey Trailer 2010
The definitive and true-life story of Nancy Kwan who, as a young Eurasian girl from Hong Kong, captured the hearts and minds of cinemagoers around the world in her stunning motion picture debut in THE WORLD OF SUZIE WONG (1960). Nancy Kwan's story is both fairytale and poignant as it takes its audience on a personal journey, and a woman's journey, which is as equally compelling as it is inspiring!

Jan Parker

In 1971, artist Jan Parker, who’d been a sketch artist on the set of 2001: A Space Odyssey, executed a series of macabre illustrations for Witchcraft and Black Magic by the prolific occult author Peter Haining. Though he wrote some reference works on Doctor Who, Haining may have become most well known for arguing, in two books, a claim that Sweeney Todd was a real person. That assertion has never been widely embraced, and Haining passed in 2007.

Jan Parker, on the other hand, is alive and well, and remains active as an artist. But if all you know of him is work like we’ve reproduced here, you wouldn’t recognize his current output. No longer a dark and surreal arbiter of fantasy and the arcane, he’s now a painter of almost flourescently vivid impressionistic abstractions. Though some of his newer pieces are indeed quite striking, the lurid horrors below are more our speed. Via Monster Brains

Arthur Ferrier

Arthur Ferrier (1890-1973) - Cartoonist

Ferrier drew for a wide range of publications, including London Opinion, The Humorist, Razzle, Passing Show, Strand, and Blighty. In the 1930s, following the example of Norman Pett's "Jane" in the Daily Mirror, he began creating a series of glamour strip cartoons which made him famous. These included “Film Fannie” for Everybody’s, “Our Dumb Blonde” for the Sunday Pictorial (1939-46), “Spotlight on Sally” for the News of the World (from 1945), and “Eve” for the Daily Sketch (1953-56).
